MP4 export uses the WebCodecs H.264 encoder built into your browser. Chrome and Edge on a desktop computer are the most reliable choices. Browsers without hardware H.264 encoding — including some Firefox and Safari builds and many mobile browsers — may refuse to export or offer only lower resolutions. The tool checks for support before exporting and tells you when a setting is unavailable.

4K exports and long loop durations are demanding. Encoding speed, memory use and the largest file you can produce depend on your CPU, GPU, available RAM and free disk space. A long 4K export on a low-powered laptop can take a while or run out of memory.

Output quality is limited by your source clip. Selecting a higher resolution than the original scales the frames up; it cannot add detail that was never recorded. Some source codecs and variable-frame-rate recordings may not decode in every browser.

Always keep the original copy of any clip you work with. We cannot recover a file lost during editing or export, because we never receive one.
